The cabins and lodge are built on the historic Reyburn homestead that received a patent in 1890. Starting in 2023 we have been working with Rob Sell, who I met in 7th grade at Austin Junior High School. Rob owns V Fine Homes – Fort Worth, TX. We have long admired the Civil Conservation Corps cabins that were built on State and National Parks across the United States during the 1930's. The CCC theme gave us inspiration to design and build cabins and lodge using high quality materials and craftmanship. They have broad porches and large windows that look out to the John Day River and blend into the landscape. One can sit on the porch and watch waterfowl flying up the river and elk, deer and bighorn sheep grazing on Ironside Mountain. The views are spectacular.
Construction will be finished in May 2025. There are two cabins with three bedroooms with private bathroom. Each bedroom has a wood burning fireplace and looks out on the John Day River. The cabins will sleep 12 guests.
Construction to be completed by May 2025. The Lodge has a full kitchen, gun room, back kitchen, and living room with wood burning fireplace. The wide porch overlooks the John Day River and the west side of the Canyon.
